When passion meets freedom, the outcome is inevitably unique. The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible launched a major new chapter in the history of Maserati as the marque’s first convertible to seat four in comfort. Inspired by the GranTurismo, the GranTurismo Convertible is dynamic and elegant—the perfect blend of practicality and passion.
dawn’s silhouette is characterised by a bold optimism, always poised and ready to go. Slender roof proportions and a strong, sweeping shoulder line give a sensuous yet contemporary look. A powerful front end points towards new frontiers, creating a vision of dynamism and progress, even when stationary.
dawn is an intrepid statement, with a form to match. The crafted French seam in the soft-top roof offers an unbroken surface and stunning aesthetics. The windscreen frame, created as a single piece, enhances the sense of grace and fluidity, while the wider track and iconic grille lend purity and authority. An emblem of ease and opportunity, the roof opens in just 22 seconds, revealing an open deck area that connects you to your surroundings like never before.
The engine of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is a 90 degree V8 of 4,691 cm3, which can generate 444 HP at 7,000 rpm, and a maximum torque of 376 lb/ft at 4,750 rpm. Like all Maserati engines, it has been designed to deliver high specific power, smooth response and low emissions with maximum fuel efficiency.
The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is designed to have near-ideal weight distribution, with a slightly greater load over the rear axle: 49% at the front and 51% at the rear with the top up; 48% at the front and 52% at the rear with the top down. This setting—obtained by moving the engine behind the front axle—maximizes traction and further improves the car’s predictable handling and stability.
The six-speed ZF fully automatic gearbox with hydraulic torque converter provides extremely smooth gear shifts, improving the ride without diminishing the responsive and powerful V8 engine. There are four operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Auto I.C.E. and Manual. In Manual mode, the gears are selected directly by the driver in sequence, using the gear lever or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.
The unique spirit of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is apparent in the design of its interior: the fortunate driver and passengers enjoy an exclusive aura of refined elegance. The luxurious accommodations are a reflection of superb craftsmanship, combining racing style and supreme comfort. Importantly, the interior of the GranTurismo Convertible is far larger than other convertibles in its class, and offers outstanding comfort for four adults in true Maserati fashion.

If a person writes a check without sufficient funds in an associated account to cover it, the check will bounce, or be returned for insufficient funds. Each state has laws regulating how merchants may respond to bounced checks. In Connecticut, the merchant may file a civil suit and press criminal charges if the check writer does not reimburse him for a bounced check after the merchant has sent several notices regarding the matter.
Posted Notice Requirement
Merchants and other business owners who accept checks must post a notice where customers are likely to see it warning them of the potential consequences of writing bad checks. The notice must include the civil penalties that bad check writers may face, the appropriate Connecticut statute number and an advisory that the check writer may also face criminal penalties
Civil and Criminal Penalties
As of 2010, civil courts may require the check writer to reimburse the merchant for the value of the check plus pay up to $750 if he has no back account or $400 if the check is returned for insufficient funds. If the merchant chooses to press criminal charges, the bad check writer may face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to one year in jail. Writing a bad check is a felony charge if the check was for more than $1,000 and a misdemeanor if written for a lesser amount.
Required Written Notices
If a check bounces, the merchant must send the check writer a letter by certified mail at the check writer's last known address or place of business. Usually this letter is sent to the address on the writer's check. The letter must inform the writer that the check was returned ask him to reimburse the merchant for the amount of the check and inform him of the potential criminal or civil penalties if he fails to do so. If the check writers does not respond to the letter within 15 days of receipt, the merchant must send a second letter. This letter must inform the check writer that he has 30 days to reimburse the merchant before the merchant takes legal action against him. Both letters must be written in both English and Spanish.
